And so we’ve been quit of smoking for four years now. Woo hoo! According to the quit meter, that means:

Over $15,300 not spent on cigarettes — and that’s at four-years-ago prices!

AND

Between the two of us, over 51,000 cigarettes not smoked. YUCK!

It’s a funny video! Yay!

Sunshiny day

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

A sunny day in January! If you open the window, you can hear the cry of the native northwesterner: “What’s that bright light? Aaaah, my eyes!”

We should be outside but we are not. We are inside playing games on the new Wii M got last night. And playing pinball. And just in general behaving as though we didn’t have a million things to do today. It’s pretty great at the moment — just have to keep forgetting we’ll pay for it later.

Oh wow

please do not climb on the cake

I haven’t been to a white elephant party in ages. Years ago I used to attend a really awesome one thrown every year by a group of friends, long lost now. It was formal, which was unusual for our crowd at the time, and as I dimly recall there was a lot of creative bartending going on. I remember a certain green drink. What was it called… an Elf? I can’t remember, but it was yummy, too easy to drink. The best part was everyone brought a white elephant gift and a gift for charity. Way fun.

So look at these amazing things Archie McPhee has for sale. Here’s hoping somebody throws a white elephant party this year, because oh man. That black cat Santa is fucked up.

I heart Archie McPhee.

Sci Fi Bananagrams!

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Earlier this week I got together for some scrabble with a few friends. Except we didn’t play scrabble. We tried a new game that M. found called Bananagrams. It has 144 tiles instead of 100, multiple Qs and Zs, and the object is to use the letters you draw to very quickly make connected words, like a crossword or a scrabble board. After we played a bunch of games — super fun games — we decided to attempt to use all the tiles to make one giant themed crossword. Theme: Science Fiction. And we did it! Mostly, anyway. Not all the words are proper nouns, but most are. Woo hoo!

we even got wesley in there, in honor of wil wheaton
