M. brought home an excellent new toy the other day: a little video camera! Here’s our first video:

FUN!

I’m leaving my job in a few minutes. Four months parental leave, coming right up! So strange… never had so much time off before. “Time off” that is. So for days I’ve been going through the stuff on my desk, trying to get it slightly under control for my replacement. Unearthed this lovely piece today, created by a friend who used to work here (hi, J!).

It all began when our hero Jackwinkle was merrily shelf reading

When he came across fore-edged books for as far as the eye could see.

It was more horrible than anything he could imagine

Sensing Jackwinkle’s distress, Laurocky crashed out of the first floor window and back into the fourth floor window.

Don’t worry Bullwinkle, there’s plenty of space nearby! If we shift them into that space, we can return them to the upright position while relieving crowding!

And excepting only the Canadian Mounty, all of their friends helped them save the books! (Sorry guys, Krista has already called Boris.)

We get these every year in our front yard. They are neato. And so delicious! (Kidding.)
