Time for a new palindrome! And I must say, I am happy that May is here. Maybe spring will be here soon.
O, cat taco!
Yes, cats again. And again, not very nice to the cats. One might think I don’t like cats. But I do. So, cats two months in a row. Probably too early to call it a theme. More like a cat… flavor. Er, maybe that’s not the best choice of words either. How about… a thing? A cat thing. There you go.

Someone’s dream job anyway… not mine. Not that I don’t love the lolcats. I just can’t imagine looking at 9000 raw entries per week, much less per day. I think I wouldn’t like lolcats very much after a few days of that.
But oh! Hey! i can has cheezburger lives in Seattle! I did not know that.

First, I have to say: “Jubilee!” is a word I picked up while reading all of Finslippy’s archives the last few weeks. Thank you, Alice, for giving me a new word, a new exclamation.
Second, Jubilee! Because I have fixed my printer! It has been showing an amber light for years, and refusing to print (for years!), and all this time I have been making do with other printers that are not on my desk. Just now, having decided to try replacing the toner (even though I was sure that wasn’t the problem), I wrestled the old cartridge out, and Lo! And Behold! There was a piece of paper resting where pieces of paper shouldn’t be resting. Removed the paper, stuck the toner cartridge back in, and the amber light went off and the green light went ON! And the printer proceeded to print the job I sent to it this morning.
Ahhhhh.

We’ve been hearing helicopters over our neighborhood for about an hour now. A little while ago I finally got to the computer and checked the news, and found the situation to be just about as scary as I imagined:
Search for armed Seattle bank robber

[photo caption:] Police surround a U.S. Bank branch in north Seattle after it was robbed by an armed man on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.
SEATTLE – Police have taken at least two people into custody during a house-to-house [search] after a man robbed a bank at gunpoint this morning.
Seattle police say the robbery happened just before 11 a.m. at a U.S. Bank branch in the 1000 block of NE 63rd Street.
The suspect is a described as a white man in his 20’s with a black hoodie and black pants.
At least one man and one woman have been detained during the search. A SWAT team is now searching through a home where at least one of them was found.
So, yeah. The first time I checked, they had not yet taken anyone into custody, and the police were described as entering houses with guns drawn. I was expecting to see shadowy figures in the yard at any moment. So very yikes. Hopefully it’s almost over.
UPDATE! The helicopters are gone I think. And the news is no longer reporting a manhunt in progress — now it’s being described in the past tense. And baby and I are safe and sound. Whew!

Wonder of wonders, it’s a punctual palindrome! And it’s April Fool’s Day, so we get to be a little sillier than usual. Here we go:
Stack cats.
So don’t really stack any cats, please — April Fool’s, remember?
Please don’t stack any cats. Please and thank you.
