Drawn with dabs of river water last week, by little M.
Partway finished:
Mostly finished. “This is a cheek! This is another cheek!”
And these are drawn with countless raindrops, by Mother Nature:
We happened to be down at the river during a light rainfall, after the tops of the rocks were soaked but before the sides were completely saturated. Nice stripey patterns.
This one looks to me like a piano.
Mother Nature had also been busy decorating the shoulders of the mountains with a little bit of snow. And showing us a bit of blue sky. Strange light that day.

Oh, thanks! We were at the Skykomish River, near Index, Washington. It is a beautiful spot.

Oh, how lovely, all of them! These rocks remind me of childhood summers on the shores of Lake Superior with my aunt. We used to spend hours walking on the rocks, and go hunting for agates (which were plentiful). You brought back such a great memory for me!

I’m so glad! What a wonderful memory to have. I love hunting for rocks too, and little M’s getting a good eye for the heart-shaped rocks and egg-shaped rocks. :)
