The average donation keeps on rising! It’s over $64 now! And the total broke 6 million a little while ago. Last night it was around 3 million. Wild.

It just went up another 4 cents while I was typing this.

amazon.com has a donation instrument taking up most of their front page. It is bringing in relief money at such an incredible rate! Tens of thousands more every few minutes. And the average donation is rising — it was about $50 as of midday 12/28, $59 last night and now it’s over $62. Awesome.

so weird

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2004

I’ve often had library dreams, and disaster dreams, and occasionally library disaster dreams. Last night’s wasn’t really a disaster but it was very weird and funny to wake up and remember. I was at the circulation desk trying to pick up a lot of little papers I’d dropped, when a patron came to the desk with a fire hose and said “I’m going to shoot that book.”

I said no, and got the nozzle and put it up against my stomach so that he couldn’t shoot the book. He shot me instead, and he was mad. I saw the head librarian and said “He just tried to shoot our books!”

The librarian grabbed the shooter and I called the police.

Later I dreamt that someone was using a bulldozer in our backyard. What’s more, they were driving it on top of our bulldozer, which wasn’t very nice.
