Spearhead!

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

Michael Franti and Spearhead came to town last night. Awesome show. Except for the part where one of our party got bounced out of the place. Yep. Except for that, it was GREAT. Oh, and Radioactive wasn’t there. Too bad. But really, it was so much fun. I danced, which surprised me, but there’s just no way to not dance at a Spearhead show.

Outside, after the show, we got hot dogs. They were so good, but WEIRD because they had cream cheese on them! And it was brilliant! Why don’t all hot dogs have cream cheese on them?

Today I learned a new word from Alyssa: Walloon
Alyssa’s husband is a Walloon. Alyssa does a fine impression of a
Walloon.

And another new word we ran across in the OED: popelican
Not the leader of Catholic pelicans. An old form of the word publican.
Very nice.

There was a total eclipse of the moon tonight. At work Krista and I took turns running upstairs (or outside) to see it. Wish I’d brought my binoculars. It was great. The moon was so dark during totality — much more so than the other total eclipse I saw years ago in AZ. Not much of the blood red effect going on this time. It was still great.

During totality:

Near the end:
oh for a pocket-sized tripod
